This update is important to all monetized content creators outside the United States.
In this video, we will walk you through how to submit the required US tax information in AdSense: https://www.google.com/adsense
Note: This does not affect US creators, as they should have already submitted their US AdSense tax information when they first joined the YouTube Partner Program.
If you are a content creator outside the US, you may start deducting taxes from your US earnings later this year (2021). Google has a responsibility under Chapter 3 of the US Internal Revenue Code to collect tax information from all creators of income-earning outside the US and, in certain cases, to deduct taxes when those creators earn income from viewers in the US. These US earnings can come from ad views, YouTube Premium, Super Chat, wonder stickers, and channel memberships.
