The US space agency had earlier said that its LRO passed through Vikram’s landing site on September 17 and found high-resolution photographs of the area. NASA has said that the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera (LROC) team, however, could not get the position or picture of the lander.

NASA has said, ‘When our orbiter passed through the landing area, it was foggy and so most of the shadow was hidden. It is possible that Vikram Lander is hidden in the shadows. When the LRO passes through there in October, the light will be favorable there and once again an attempt will be made to take the position or picture of the lander.
