1981 – After a football match between Olympiakos FC, 21 football federation were killed simultaneously at the Coriscus Stadium in Neo Faliro, Greece.

1986 – A 118-car Canadian National Freight Train collides with a VIA Rail passenger train near the town of Hinton, Alberta, west of Edmonton. 23 people die in this accident.
1993 – General Motors sues NBC after NBC had two crashes at two locations.
1996 – the US Congress passed the Communications Community Act.
2010 – A storm in the Hindu Kush Mountains of Afghanistan caused 36 avalanches that buried two miles of roadways and trapped 2,000 passengers, killing at least 172 people.
2014 – 15 Egyptian pilgrims were killed and 130 were injured in Saudi Arabia’s Medina Hotel fire.
